Synopsis
Rebel is the True incidents of two Tamilians students who face discrimination by both Malayali students and the college administration in government college Chittur, (Palakkad) . Why Tamilians face discrimination in Palakkad ? And what is KSQ and SFY who runs whole college ?

First we appreciate Hard work of Director Nikesh RS and his team to make this type of Political, Drama movie which reveals hidden dark secret history of Tamilians where they face discrimination and humiliated by Malayali students in 1980's . First half of movie completely filled with drama and history , but in second half you see action and thriller.
In beginning of movie we can see that how states were reorganized on a linguistic basis in the year 1956. Where Kanniyakumari later becomes a part of Tamil Nadu but Munnar continued to remain with Kerala.
Mamitha Baiju is an lead actress and play role of Sara a , conscientious student leader role in movie , where she looking very beautiful but due to her Dearing personality and powerful dialogues she attracts audience attention towards her . She is an angel for Kathir’s where she save him from Malayali students in class .
While other side G V Prakash who play role of Kathir performance is good , The film also has some good performances coming in from Aadithya Bhaskar, Karunas, Kalloori Vinoth and Shalu Rahim.

Second half of movie is more interested compared to first half , Mamitha Baiju is also talented actress but limited role , Movie makers intent is good but due to bad screen play audience can't connect to movie . Some scenes in movie very disturbing and ending of movie is bad . The story is set in the 1980s but that doesn't get clearly communicated to the viewers.
Technical Aspects
GV Prakash music play an important role to make movie intresting for audience, Because due to long time dramatic scenes movie fall into drama and it looks like film become target of monotonous , While other side cinematography done by Arun Radhakrishnan , Where he perfectly shoots whole film without adding anytype of unnecessary scenes, and when I watching rebel movie in cinema hall my mind reminds me recent incident of a student’s death in a veterinary college in Wayanad due to ragging .
As we knows that movie success totally depends on Director , Because director sign right cast for movie and other crew like Script writer , Song composer and more , where Nikesh R.S. do awesome work in movie, one of the best thing he done with rebel movie is not separating peoples depending on language ( Malayalam and Tamil )
Conclusion
Rebel full movie revolve around on real incident where two Tamilians face discrimination in government college Chittur , First half is little bit slow and dramatic but second half is completely filled with Action and Thriller.
