Synopsis
The movie "Lover" tells the story of Arun and Divya, who have been in a relationship since college. Divya has progressed in her career, but due to his alcoholism, Arun spends his time with alcoholic friends in bars. Six years later, Arun feels insecure about losing her.

Prabhuram Vyas is known for making romantic movies like "Livin" (2017) and "Lover" (2024). In the first half, we see the romantic chemistry between Arun and Divya. In the second half, you feel the pain of Arun because he knows he will soon lose Divya due to his alcoholism. K. Manikandan's performance as Arun is purely natural, and you won't feel for a second that you are watching a scripted movie. Director Prabhuram Vyas portrays the current reality of men in the form of a movie.
Boys in college have big dreams, but due to bad habits, they sacrifice their dreams. They lose their focus and become indisciplined. In this film, the director focuses more on Arun's character. Arun is a topper in his college, and his dream is to open a café in his city. But his toxic and alcoholic friends slowly turn him into an alcoholic, and he gives up his dream. On the other hand, Sri Gouri Priya as Divya is a beautiful girl from a middle-class family whose dream is to work in an IT company.
She loves Arun, but due to his alcoholic habits, their relationship becomes toxic, yet Divya supports him. In the second half of the movie, Sri Gouri Priya's performance is outstanding. She symbolizes an independent girl who works hard day and night for her dreams, which is the biggest positive point in this movie. Geetha Kailasam, who plays Arun's mom, delivers an excellent performance. She always loves her son and prays to God for him. She symbolizes pure love. Geetha Kailasam has given her best in many Tamil and Telugu movies, but in this movie, her performance is excellent compared to her other films.

In the second half of the film, you are reminded of some scenes from "Arjun Reddy" and "Dear Comrade" Tamil movies because some scenes in this movie are inspired by "Dear Comrade." For example, Arun first explodes in anger and then weeps and apologizes, pitifully seeking another chance from Divya. In the middle of the second half, the movie becomes overly emotional when Divya breaks up with Arun.

Director Prabhuram Vyas put in a lot of hard work and selected the perfect cast for the movie, which the audience loves. Cinematography by Shreyaas Krishna, who gained popularity from the movie "Sita Ramam" (2022), is magical in "Lover." The movie is edited by Barath Vikraman, who did his best work in "Good Night" (2023). The audience appreciates Barath Vikraman's work in this film. The background music is perfectly matched with the movie scenes. .
