Plus Points (+)

Tom Cruise is including this type of actor whose movies break their own records at the box office collection after giving back-to-back solid performances in Mission: Impossible – Fallout (2018) and Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning (2023). Thomas Cruise Mapother IV, aka Thomas Cruise, once again comes back with Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, where his stunt scenes, particularly in the second half of the movie, definitely blow your mind.

The first half is a mixture of drama and action scenes where director Christopher McQuarrie mainly focuses on Tom Cruise and Hayley Atwell. If you are a true fan of Tom Cruise, you'll notice that you don't see any type of adult or sexual scenes in the movie. Yes, it's true that you may see some kissing scenes, but not adult scenes the other side second half movie becomes personal when Gabriel kills Ethan's best friend, Luther, a computer hacker who works for Ethan Hunt to spy on the enemy.

Fraser Taggart’s cinematography is outstanding, particularly in the submarine and aerial sequences, which are visually thrilling and immersive. The music department also delivers, with a dynamic background score that adapts seamlessly to the mood of each scene. On the editing front, while the team manages to hold the audience’s attention, a tighter cut from Eddie Hamilton could have trimmed some of the slower moments. As expected from this franchise, the production values remain top-tier—slick, polished, and consistently impressive.

There’s no doubt that Tom Cruise is the backbone of the movie, delivering yet another jaw-dropping performance. From intense underwater sequences in a submarine to nerve-wracking aerial maneuvers in a small aircraft, every stunt is performed by Cruise himself—no stunt doubles involved. Audiences admire stars like Jackie Chan and Tom Cruise precisely because they take on these high-risk scenes personally, showcasing real dedication and fearlessness. That’s why both have millions of devoted fans eagerly awaiting each new release.

Minus Points (-)

One of the disadvantages of Tom Cruise movies is the lack of emotional depth. In any movie of his, all movies are full of action and thriller scenes. Now Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning (2025) falls into the same category. On the other side, longtime fans might find themselves missing the intricate spy gadgets, tactical missions, and clever strategies that once defined the Mission: Impossible formula. In this installment, those classic elements feel noticeably toned down.
