Synopsis

Roti Kapada Romance is the story of Rahul, Vicky, Surya, and Harsha, who are four best friends from their childhood who are currently enjoying their bachelor lives, but the climax comes in the movie when four girls, Priya, Shweta, Divya, and Sonia, enter their lives. When I saw the poster of this movie titled Roti Kapada Romance, I suddenly remembered Amitabh Bachchan and Shashi Kapoor's Roti Kapada Aur Makaan movie, which was released in 1974, but now when I watched this movie in the cinema hall, I can say that both movie names are close to similar, but both storylines are very different.

Back to the topic, the first half is fast-paced and takes time to introduce characters, and it looks like director Vikram Reddy takes inspiration from famous Bollywood movies like Grand Masti, Grand Masti 2, Pyaar Ka Punchnama, and more, because most of the scenes from the first half are a perfect mixture of dark comedy and romance.

While the other side, the second half is the perfect example of a weak storyline and poor editing; my means, the first half runs in interesting ways where comedy and drama lead the whole movie, while the second half is a mixture of unwanted emotional and dramatic scenes, which makes the audience a little bit less interested.

We always hear that music is the backbone of every movie. I saw many movies in the past where their storylines are very poor, but their songs are trending on social media platforms like YouTube and Instagram. When it comes to the topic, songs of Sunny MR, Harsh Vardhan Rameshwar, and RR Dhruvan are pretty good and add romantic and emotional taste to films. While Santosh Reddy’s cinematography is next level, where he captures deep emotions of characters.

No doubt Roti Kapada Romance is a comedy and dramatic movie, but due to a lack of unpredictability and more emotional scenes, mostly in the second half, it makes the movie a little bit disappointing for the audience.

The romance track starring Rahul and Priya is quite routine, and the routine emotional reasons from the girl’s perspective don’t seem that effective.

The first half is well designed and runs in interesting ways, but the second half does not meet the audience's expectations. Always remember this movie is only for an 18+ audience, and you can see it only with friends and not with family members. As we discussed above, Santosh Reddy’s cinematography is next level, but editing should have been better in a few scenes.
