Synopsis
3 BHK is the story of Vasudevan, a middle-class man who lives with his wife, Shanti; son, Prabhu; and daughter, Aarthi. He believes that owning a house is a symbol of high status in society. However, struggling financially, Vasudevan is unable to fulfill his dream, so he hopes Prabhu achieves what I haven't achieved in my whole life.
Plus points (+)
Nowadays, middle-budget movies beat high-budget movies because audiences want something new, like a new love story, and Tamil cinema is famous for making movies about village middle-class men who fight against zamindars and family dramatic scenes.
The first half is a mixture of drama and middle-class family dramatic scenes, like dreams of our own house and usliving together like a happy family, but in the second half, the movie goes through several ups and downs, which is the perfect combination of emotional drama movies.
After Miss You struggled at the box office collection once again, Siddharth returned to the silver screen along with Sarath Kumar and Devayani, where in the first half his performance as a middle-class person who supports his family was outstanding, while the second half was ok in terms of family drama.
Minus points (-)
The biggest issue is the screenplay. While the story is simple and genuine, the narration turns dull quickly. The pacing is slow, and scenes begin to feel repetitive. The same emotion is presented repeatedly without any new layers or turns.
3 BHK Nothing comes with anything new. We already watched a similar type of movie in the past where, due to societal pressure, Hero and his family broke their FD or sold their ancestors land to buy a home.
