Synopsis
Kenatha Kanom is the story of Ramanathapuram, a village in Tamil Nadu that is drought-stricken and water-starved. As the residents go to great lengths, a twist comes in the story when some villagers dig a well in front of local temple priest Manivasagar, where they find something special and archaeological taken this portion under them. Hello friends, everyone likes Tamil movies, especially those based on villages, but movies' popularity increases more when audiences know that Yogi Babu, the king of comedy, appears in the lead role.
After giving back-to-back movies like Sathiya Sothanai (2023) and Oru Kidayin Karunai Manu (2017), director and writer Suresh Sangaiah once again comes back with Kenatha Kanom, where Yogi Babu, Lovelyn Chandrashekar, and Mottai Rajendran appear in the lead cast.
First half is the mixture of comedy, drama, and romance, where Yogi Babu, who is playing the local temple priest Manivasagar's role, is the real strength of the movie, while the second half is the perfect combination of drama, suspense, and politics.
After giving his solid performance in Tourist Family (2025) and 3Bhk (2025), Yogi Babu once again appears in Suresh Sangaiah's Kenatha Kanom, where he plays the local temple priest Manivasagar's role. In the first half, his romantic scenes with Lovelyn Chandrashekar and comedy scenes with villagers and Mottai Rajendran are the backbone of the movie, but in the second half, his comedy timing is very low due to the political angle in the movie.
After being popular through House Owner (2019) and Are You Ok Baby? (2023), Tamil actress Lovelyn Chandrasekhar once again appears in Kenatha Kanom, where she plays Yogi Babu's girlfriend role. She wants to marry him, but her father doesn't like his village status, where local villagers left this village due to lack of water. Her dialogue delivery is next level, especially in the first half.
