Synopsis
Based on a true incident from 2009 , The film revolves around a group of friends ( Manjummel Boys ) from a small town called Manjummel near Kochi who decide to have a vacation in Kodaikanal and visit Guna Cave there. During this visit, one of the friends falls into a deep pit which is also known as Devil’s Kitchen.

After broken all box office collection records in Malayalam language. Manjummel Boys now hit on silver screen in Telugu language . First I appreciate Hard work of Director Chidambaram and his team to make movie on real story .
First half of movie is the combination of comedy and Drama , where we see group of friends going on vacation in Kodaikanal but second half is mixture of Survival , Thriller and Drama where Sushin Shyam background music play an important role to create suspence in audience mind .
But climex comes in movie when they decide to visit Guna Caves, famous for being featured in Kamal Haasan's blockbuster film "Gunaa." released in 1991 .
Movie without suspense looks like brand new Audi car without engine. Second half is completely filled with suspence and thriller which is the single factor who responsible for glued audience eyes to the screen till to the end.
First half movie runs slow but when Subhash falls into pit, then film pick up momentum , Soubin Shahir is a lead actor and play role of Kuttan performance is awesome . First half his acting is good but He stole the show in second half with his acting.
Sreenath Bhasi as Subhash is becoming centre of attraction in second half . When he fall into the pit . Sreenath Bhasi wins audiences heart through his natural acting and way of speaking emotional dialogues .
Other supporting cast like George Maryan as Arumugam, a local seller , Lal Jr. as Siju , Mejo ,
Ramachandran Durairaj as Dominic, a local guide, Vijay Muthu as Sub-Inspector, Karthika Vellathery as Bride Mani as Forest range officer and more did the needed.
Minus points (-)
The biggest minus point of Manjummel Boys film is slow pacing where first 40 minutes, nothing much happens and due to lack of comedy and action in first half , movie easily becomes target of monotonous , But in second half movie again comes on track where thriller and suspence lead the whole movie.
Due to film based on real story viewer's already knows that's what's happen next . This is very common in every movie who are based on real story or real incident . The film has simple story , and hence, it isn’t a big deal to guess what happens at the end. The predictability factor slightly affects the experience.
Technical Aspects
Chidambaram S. Poduval aka Chidambaram is New in Malayalam film industry . He worked in Jan.E.Man movie which was released in 2021 , but his Manjummel Boys movie break all box office collection in Malayalam film industry , filmmaker Chidambaram, beautifully portrays the essence of friendship, bonding, and resilience in second half of movie. While other side cinematography done by Shyju Khalid is truly remarkable , where he use wide-angle shots of the Kodikanal, the low-angle shots for Sreenath Bhasi as Subhash when he falls into dark pit inside Guna Caves.
Sushin Shyam music is decent and editing done by Vivek Harshan , where he used combination of lite black and white background, Guna Caves scenes are wonderful.
Conclusion
Manjummel Boys movie is based on true story where during visit Guna Cave there one of the friends falls into a deep pit . How his friends help him to come out from deep pit . Overall full movie is the mixture of Survival , Drama and Thriller.
