Synopsis
Family Star is the story of Govardhan who is an architect and comes from middle class family . His life completly dedicated to financially supporting his brothers and their families. But climex comes in movie when Indu enter in his life.

After success of Kushi Romantic and comedy movie . Vijay Devarakonda comes with another Family drama movie ( " Family Star ") , Where he is along with Mrunal Thakur . Director Parasuram Petla is famous for narrating stories in an entertaining manner , where he did his best in geetha govindam movie which was released in year 2023 . First Director Parasuram Petla work with Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna where audience give positive response but now he is working with Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur but audience gives mixed response towards his decision .
First half is mixture of comedy and some romantic scenes between hero and heroine , where Gopi Sundar music play an important role to make movie more interesting for audience . But second half is completely filled with drama , action and emotional dialogues. If I conclude whole movie in two lines, first half is more interesting than second half and Director Parasuram Petla faild to recreate same magic which spread in Geeta Govindam times.
Back to cast performance, Vijay Devarakonda is a young and energetic actor in Telugu film industry who worked in many popular Tamil , Telugu and Hindi movies . In this Family Star drama movie he is appear in lead actor , where he play role of Govardhan an architect who completly dedicated to himself into financially supporting his brothers and their families . First half his performance is awesome , Vijay Devarakonda is famous for his simplicity and funny dialogues we see both him in first half , But in second half his performance is not so impactful due to bad script .
I think Rashmika Mandanna is lucky for Vijay Devarakonda . Because when he worked with her in Geeta Govindam and Dear comrade both movies became successfull and broke all box office collection in their times and audiences appreciated both actor's acting and performance but his luck not worked with other actresses like Ananya Panday (" linger ") , Samantha (" Khushi ") and now Mrunal Thakur (" Family Star ") .
Mrunal Thakur is lead actress in movie and play role of Indu , a student at Hyderabad Central University . First half her acting and lovely dialogues grabs audience attention towards her , but in second half due to limited screen time , she failed to spread her magic , Because her character was poorly written and she’s got nothing great to perform here . As we discussed above about Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Devarakonda . Other side Dulquer Salmaan is lucky for Mrunal Thakur , Because she worked in many movies like Tamil , Telugu and Hindi but audience only remember her for Sita ramam where lead actor is Dulquer Salmaan . In recent interview she told that Dulquer Salmaan is lucky for me and more about him.
Vennela Kishore is play supporting role in movie , where first half his comedy dialogues stole the show but second half he could not bring any laughs. After Yogi Babu and motta rajendran , Vennela Kishore is the 3rd most popular comedy actor in Telugu and Tamil film industry and other supporting cast like Vasuki, Abhinaya did the needed.

Family star movie doesn’t repeat the magic of Geeta Govindam and Dear comrade . Director Parasuram Petla trying to do something new with his movie but he failed , Audience gives mixed response towards movie cast . If Director Parasuram Petla cast Dulquer Salmaan instead of Vijay Devarakonda which is better for movie. Because nowadays audience becomes very choosy he or she don't want to see their favourite hero or heroine with another cast .
Mrunal Thakur doesn’t get much screen time. Her role and sequences with Vijay Deverakonda in the first half are entertaining and interesting but she plays little role in the second half and Jagapathi Babu who play role of industrialist in movie has very minimal screen presence and weak dialogues.
Biggest negative point in this movie is lack of comedy in second half , first half Vennela Kishore comedy dialogues stole the show but in second half he could not bring any laughs due to bad script.
Technical Aspects
Director Parasuram Petla is very popular Director and screenwriter in south Indian Film industry . He worked In many popular and big budget movies but most popular are Geeta Govindam and Dear comrade . Movie story is awesome but cast selection is little bit gone wrong.
He is very popular for making family drama movies but in the end of the film, you question what Parasuram was trying to convey with this story: 'the man' who face any situation for his family, or the lover who takes revenge to his betrayal girl friend.
The placement of songs feels inappropriate, and Gopi Sundar’s background score lacks impact. While other side cinematography and production values are decent and editing done by Marthand KVenkatesh .
Conclusion
Family Star full movie revolve around Govardhan and Indu love story. where first half is combination of Romance , Drama and Comedy and second half is mixture of Drama , Action and some emotional scenes .
