Plus Points (+)

Thug Life 2025 is so highly anticipated and special because the director of this movie is Mani Ratnam. Mani Ratnam and Kamal Haasan reunite after 38 years for Thug Life. They last worked together in the 1987 Tamil film Nayakan. So Thug Life is very special for both the millennial and Gen Z generations.

The first half opens with a fighting scene where Kamal Haasan appears in a new look, and the audience praises his unique action scenes. In my opinion, the first half looks like you are watching the movie Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai (2010), while the second half is a mixture of revenge and martial arts scenes of Kamal Haasan, where Trisha Krishnan plays the wonderful role of a loving wife. One of the minus points of this movie is that some scenes, particularly in the first half, look like they are only added to increase the runtime, and those scenes test the audience's patience level. I conclude the whole paragraph in one line: Thug Life is the story of family drama , betrayal, and revenge.

After given solid performance in Indian 2 Ulaganayagan aka Kamal Haasan once again back with Thug Life You believe or not you goes to watch Thug Life only for Kamal Haasan , Because he is the base of this movie others characters likes stars and Kamal Haasan like Purnima moon when moon in the Full form all stars hidden in his light , Back to topic Kamal Haasan as Rangaraaya Sakthivel Naicker Play wonderful role of thug in the first half is performance is decent but in the second he looks like targeted missile who now launch from launch pad.

After delivering a solid performance in Indian 2, Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan returns once again with Thug Life. Believe it or not, you’ll find yourself watching Thug Life primarily for Kamal Haasan. He is the very foundation of the film. While the other characters are like stars, Kamal Haasan shines like a full moon so radiant that the stars fade in his presence.

Coming to the film, Kamal Haasan plays Rangaraaya Sakthivel Naicker, a powerful thug. In the first half, his performance is steady and impactful, but in the second half, he transforms into a guided missile launched and unstoppable

Trisha Krishnan, who plays Indrani, the wife of Rangaraya Shaktiraju, delivers a strong performance. Although her role is brief, she doesn’t need two or four hours to leave an impact; her presence is powerful and memorable.

Minus Points (-)

The editing by Sreekar Prasad is thoroughly disappointing. The first half alone feels like an entire film, while the second half drags even more, making the overall runtime feel exhausting and hard to endure.

It's true that Thug Life features music composed by the legendary A. R. Rahman, one of the most respected music directors in Tamil and Hindi cinema. While the song Achcha Vanne Poovvaa has gone viral on social media, the rest of the soundtrack falls flat, and the background score fails to leave a lasting impact.
