First half is good in terms of drama action and Comedy but second half lost same type of energy and best thing about Khalifa The Ruler is a stylish and ambitious gangster-action thriller that works best when it focuses on its larger-than-life characters, revenge angle and high-energy action sequences. Prithviraj Sukumaran carries the film with a strong screen presence, while the combination of gold smuggling, family legacy and underworld politics gives the story a promising foundation. The film's biggest strength is its scale and presentation, with Vysakh bringing a commercial-action flavour to the material.

The Ruler is more of a big-screen action entertainer than a deeply layered gangster drama. It has enough style, star power and action to keep the audience interested, although the writing could have been sharper and more consistent.
