Synopsis
Trending is a story of Arjun and Meera, an influencer couple who run a YouTube channel that makes them rich, so they both decide to quit their jobs and focus full-timeon the YouTube channel. But their dream is short-lived. One morning, their YouTube channel is suddenly deactivated, and loan sharks come knocking. So, when a stranger offers them a chance to participate in a reality game, who is this stranger, and why did he choose them for this game?

There are very few directors in Tamil cinema who do invocation in their movies, but most of the directors come up with the same types of action, thriller, or comedy movies that are remakes of movies already available on YouTube and other streaming platforms, but here I respect director Sivaraj N., who is new in Tamil cinema and comes up with a trending psychological thriller drama movie that blows your mind and exposes the true nature of our love being.
The first half totally focuses on the YouTube journey of Arjun and Meera, who are living together happily and earning very well and gaining love and fame from fans, while the second half of the movie revolves around a mysterious person called Mask, where drama and suspense are the leading emotions.
Although director Sivaraj N.'s intention towards making this movie is how money makes someone greedy enough to risk his wife’s life for money. This is the harsh reality of our society nowadays: people are becoming greedier day by day without one second thinking about their family or friends; they want money.
After playing Kunjara's role in Devara: Part 1 (2024), Kalaiyarasan Harikrishnan, aka Kalaiyarasan, once again appears on the silver screen with Priyalaya, where he plays the role of Arjun, a social media influencer who becomes greedy for money and plays a game where he is willing to risk his wife’s life for money. As an audience perceptive, Kalaiyarasan is excellent in the second half compared to the first one.

The second half is more interesting compared to the first one because the first half looks very artificial; everything runs very smoothly, which is not possible in real life.
