Plus points (+)
After giving back-to-back hit movies like Manchi Rojulochaie (2021) and Pakka Commercial (2022), director Maruthi Dasari, aka Maruthi, once again comes back with a comedy horror drama and romance movie (The Raja Saab), where Prabhas, Sanjay Dutt, Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, Riddhi Kumar, and Zarina Wahab appear in the lead cast, while Brahmanandam, Yogi Babu, Saptagiri, VTV Ganesh, and others appear in supporting roles.
First half is a mixture of comedy, drama, and romance, where Prabhas appears in romance with his two co-stars, Nidhhi Agerwal and Malavika Mohanan, while the second half is only for Prabhas's true fans who want to see him in a new avatar where comedy is sitting in the front seat. Back to the topic, the second half is a mixture of action, drama, and comedy, where Sanjay Dutt as Kanakaraju steals the show with his black magic.
Yes, it is correct that The Raja Saab is a horror movie, but it doesn't mean it is not for children and those below 18+. If you are a parent and thinking about watching this movie with family and friends where children are included, The Raja Saab is perfect for you because this movie is a mixture of horror, comedy, and romance, not pure horror like 1920, The Conjuring, and The Nun.
After making a cameo appearance in Kannappa as Rudra and doing a voice-over in Mirai, Prabhas now once again appears in The Raja Saab, where he plays the role of Raju. In the first half, his performance is as a comedic and romantic guy, while in the second half, his performance, especially in the hospital scene, is outstanding. While Sanjay Dutt as Kanakaraju wins the audience's heart through a negative role in the first half, he has only one or two scenes, but the whole second half revolves around him and Prabhas.
Malavika Mohanan’s performance is decent as Bhairavi, but Nidhhi Agerwal and Riddhi Kumar have limited screen presence on the flip side. Thaman’s background music is decent and attractive.
Minus Points (-)
The second half is more engaging and interesting compared to the first one, where the hospital scene is the center of the movie.
