Plus Points (+)

Being popular from Kaithi (2019) and Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru (2017), Karthik Sivakumar, aka Karthi, once again appears in Vaa Vaathiyaar, where he plays the role of DSP Rameshwaran. Hello friends, if you are interested in watching comedy, drama, and romantic movies, I think Vaa Vaathiyaar is only for you because the makers know that there are a majority of action movies available on the internet, so they came up with Vaa Vaathiyaar, a perfect mixture of comedy, drama, and action. You don't feel you are wasting your hardcore movie.

First half is a mixture of comedy, drama, and romance, where Karthi's comedy dialogue is the backbone of the movie, while the second half is the combination of drama, suspense, and some political scenes. I personally like the first half because in this time the movie is totally revolving around Karthi and Krithi Shetty's pure comedy and romance, but in the second half the movie turns into political drama and patriotism.

After giving back-to-back solid hit movies like Kadhalum Kadandhu Pogum (2016) and Kutty Story (2020), director Nalan Kumarasamy once again comes back with Vaa Vaathiyaar. For your information, I tell you that Vaa Vaathiyaar is shot with a modern camera, but its story looks like a 90s old-school drama comedy movie, which is the USP of this movie.

As we discussed above, being popular from Kaithi (2019) and Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru (2017), Karthi appears in the lead role in the first half; his performance is outstanding and attracts every age group of audiences, while in the second half, the movie becomes a little bit boring due to the slow pace and lack of comedy and romance.

Minus Points (-)

Director Nalan Kumarasamy comes with a unique story and 90's old-school drama, which is good in terms of comedy and romance but fails in the second half due to the slow pace and political drama.
