Synopsis
Carmeni Selvam is the story of Selvam, a middle-class person who lives with his wife Shanthi and his sons. For livelihood, he drives the car of a wealthy tycoon, Sampath, but a twist comes in the story when Sampath and his wife go on a foreign tour. Selvam use his luxury car as a taxi to earn more money, and what's happening to him is that he's trapped in a loan trap, and how does he escape from it?

Hello Friends, Tamil cinema is totally filled with a various variety of movies or different genres of movies like action, drama, thriller, and comedy, but the problem is most of the movies are inspired or fully copy the past, so if you want something new and interesting that gives you knowledge about how to avoid the EMI trap or not invest money on luxury things that you don't need present to impress society, like the latest iPhone or a new car and more, I think the Carmeni Selvam movie is best for you because in this first half this movie entertains you, but in the second half it gives you knowledge or a social message, like don't waste your hard-earned money on things that you don't need present.
First half is the mixture of family drama and suspense, where Yuvaraj Dakshan’s cinematography and Ramanujam MK's background music are the backbone of the movie, while the second half is the perfect combination of knowledge on debt or don't become too greedy to forget your financial limits.
After playing Marichamy's role in Idli Kadai (2025) and TPK Ayya in Kaantha (2025), P. Samuthirakani, aka Samuthirakani, once again appears in director Ram Chakri's Carmeni Selvam, where he is playing Selvam's role. In the first half his family drama scenes are very engaging and interesting, while in the second half how he escapes the loan trap is watchable.
