Synopsis
Neelira is a story of a single night in the 1980s in a northern Sri Lankan village. Where eight Indian Peace Keeping Force (IPKF) soldiers enter into a Tamil Sri Lankan family who are preparing for their daughter's marriage due to a coordination error, what's happening next? Does Naveen Chandra, who plays the Indian army captain role in this movie, shoot all the family or save them?

Hello friends, we already watched lots of movies on the civil war, like Tourist Family (2025), Madras Cafe (2013), Methagu (2021), and more, but director Somee Tharan comes with Neelira, where Naveen Chandra, Kapila Venu, and Roopa Koduvayur appear in the lead cast.
History proves that low-budget movies with strong and engaging storylines beat high-budget movies with copy-paste scripts because nowadays audiences want something new and different, not just old-school romance and drama. So to solve this problem, director Somee Tharan came up with Neelira, a low-budget movie, but the action and drama look like this is happening in real life.
First half is the mixture of history, drama, and some action scenes where Naveen Chandra is acting, and Tapas Nayak's background music is the biggest asset of this movie, while the second half is the combination of drama, action, and some emotional moments. In this movie we see that a mother does anything to save her family.
After giving solid performances in Eleven (2025) and Show Time (2025), Naveen Chandra once again appears in Neelira, where he plays an Indian army captain role. In the first half, his performance is outstanding, and his dialogue delivery is decent.
