Synopsis
Athiradi is the story of Sam Kutty. He joins engineering college, where his brother also studied. He was always trying to create an impression in front of others, but everyone ignored him, and his own father once said he was a bus without an engine, so to get everyone's attention, he announced he would revive the college fest, which stopped due to some mishaps that happened a few years ago. Why was the college fest Arohan stopped, and who is behind this, and how did Sam Kutty do this?

Hello friends, when we hear the word campus, those movies come to our minds like Chhichhore (2019), Oru Mexican Aparatha (2017), Student of the Year (2012), and Kabir Singh (2019) because those movies revolve around college fights, love, and everything where college comes into play. Let me tell you, if you're looking for campus movies where drama, romance, and action are in the driver's seat, I recommend Arun Anirudhan's Athiradi, where Basil Joseph and Tovino Thomas are the lead actors.
First half is only for those audiences who love comedy, drama, and romance, where Basil Joseph's comedy and Tovino Thomas's solid dialogue delivery are the biggest assets of the movie, while the second half comes with drama and action, where the music department did good, but Vishnu Vijay succeeds in the background score.
After gaining popularity through Padayottam (2018) and Minnal Murali (2021), now Athiradi (2026) is the 3rd film of director Arun Anirudhan. Here I appreciate director Arun Anirudhan, who makes this type of movie, which entertains you, but this movie comes with many flaws, particularly in the second half, where we experience a slow pace and lack of comedy.
The Athiradi movie is divided into two sections where first second is comedy and drama, which is represented by Basil Joseph, while the second section is action-drama, which is represented by Tovino Thomas. What's happening when both come face-to-face in the ending this is the core plot of this movie.

The First half is very engaging and interesting in the terms of comedy and drama, where Basil Joseph's comedic timing is the backbone of the movie, while Tovino Thomas's action scenes are awesome, but if editor Chaman Chakko trimmed some unwanted scenes, especially from the second half, it would be the good for the movie because they just increase the duration of the movie without adding any type of value.
